This beautiful unused uncancled postcard showing the Maxwell Mennonite colony near Scotland South dakota, is unique and that it is a bird's-eye view, likely taken from an airplane or possibly a hilltop near the community. The postcard was not canceled but it does show places where the postcard had been put into an album, and you can see the lines on the corners. It really does not affect the detail of the photograph, which is quite clear, black and white, turn of the 20th century, likely around 1908. The photo image has sheen, sort of a shimmer that reflects high quality manufacture of the time. The real photo postcard was made by the L.L. Cook Co., Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Please review photos.
