This impressive scene is entitled "Southern Living" by renowned artist Randy Souders. This print is personally hand autographed by the artist (NOT by an 'autopen' or other mechanical device).
Reminiscent of Tara Plantation in “Gone with the Wind,” this scene features a classic old antebellum style mansion way down in the deep south. Viewers will delight in details such as the "Rhett and Scarlett"- type characters on the front steps, the ornate fountain and fully displayed peacock in the circular drive and the horse and buggy in the porte cochere. An octagonal gazebo is seen out back. Two little country boys (one black, one white) are fishing in the little pond on the right. The giant oak tree (with it's hundreds of individually painted pieces of bark) serves to frame the scene and direct the viewers eye ever deeper in. It's easy to get lost in a painting like this!
This setting is the very embodiment of that grand, romantic and genteel way of life that millions have come to idealize. Randy has been commissioned by MGM/ Turner Entertainment™ to create original artworks (notably the "Emerald City of OZ"). He has also produced many works for the Walt Disney Company™.
